UVALDE, TX, USA--Endurance rider Carl Reese partnered with Continental Tire at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas, to break the Guinness World Record for "Greatest Distance on a Motorcycle in 24 Hours on a track (Individual);" he logged 2119 miles in less than 24 hours, breaking the existing record of 2023.5 miles set by Matthew McKelvey in 2014, according to the World Record Academy.
Endurance rider Carl Reese has set the World Record for the "Greatest Distance in 24 hours on a Motorcycle (individual) on a track." The record was set at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde,Texas. He logged 2119 miles in less than 24 hours, breaking the existing record of 2023.5 miles set by Matthew McKelvey in 2014.
The Guinness World Records world record for the longest distance riding a motorcycle in 24 hours is 3256.5 km (2023.5 miles) and was achieved by Matthew McKelvey aka Bushy (South Africa) at the Phakisa Freeway in Welkom, South Africa, on 8 October 2014.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the greatest distance on a motocross in 24 hours by an individual; it is 565.74 km (351.53 miles) and was achieved by Paul Oughton (UK) at Rogershill Raceway in Bere Regis, Dorset, UK, on 10-11 September 2013.
Reese partnered with Continental Tire at the 8.5 mile circuit riding a BMW K 1600 GT.
Top speeds reached 141mph. Reese had carried an averaged speed of 92 mph including all stops during the 22 hours and 52 minutes on the track.
The official average speed for the entire 24 hours was 88.3 mph. The run was terminated with an hour and 18 minutes remaining when crew chief Jay Carson inspected Reese's tires and concluded that their supply of tires was done for.
