France is a sunrise – sunset kinda place. Up early and out to the beach in Biarritz for a quick surf check at Côte des Basque, before chasing the tide up the coast to Hossegor.

A seaside resort and surfing mecca, Hossegor did not disappoint.

First stop was for a much-needed pick me up with espressos and banana bread from local coffee shop, Waxed – purveyors of all things both surf and travel. Freshly brewed, and still fighting off that Aussie jet-lag, we rode around le capital of surfing popping into shops along the way and heading up to the beach for a quick ride around the famed wave wall and then settled ourselves down for poke bowls at Louvine…fresh poke? Oui!
